Bringing light to a time of darkness
March 30, 2020
The lights on City Hall are shining blue and green to honour healthcare and other essential workers everywhere who are the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We lit up City Hall to show our recognition and support of our friends and colleagues in health and other essential services who are doing everything they can to respond to this health crisis,” said Mayor Tara Veer. “The lights are a symbol of solidarity to health care professionals and front-line responders, and I invite all Red Deerians to join us in this gesture.”
Show your support with blue and green on the outside of your home. This may be in the form of Christmas lights, ribbons, or coloured hearts in your windows. You can also show support by drawing pictures or messages of support on your sidewalk or driveway in chalk, while also enjoying some fresh air.
Take a picture, tag The City of Red Deer on social media, and share it with us.
Let’s show our support for those who are working on the front lines.
